At Vista Del Mar, we’ve given careful attention to every detail in our admissions program to ensure an easy, non-stressful experience to our patients and their families. Getting the help you or your loved one needs isn’t a process – it’s a journey, and we take great care in guiding our patients every step of the way.

Admissions Process Overview

To take your first step toward healing, call today at 805-653-6434 to speak with an Assessment & Referral Specialist. Your specialist will ask you a series of questions to determine if an in-person assessment is the appropriate next step.

Remember, you do not have to heal alone. We prepare personalized support for every patient and their families to ensure they receive the attention they deserve. In addition, we place equal importance on instilling you and your loved ones with comfort and knowledge about the hospitalization experience.

If you are considering care for yourself, someone you love, or someone in your counsel, our dedicated team of professionals are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including holidays, to speak with you about our programs and services.

Mental Health Assessment

In order to provide the best treatment options possible, Vista Del Mar performs an initial assessment to determine how we can best care for you during your stay. This mental health assessment helps us in discovering how you are feeling emotionally and physically so we can identify the most appropriate programs and services that will meet your needs.

If you find yourself struggling in school, work, or home activities due to mental health or substance abuse issues, such as

  • Anxiety/Panic
  • Depression
  • Drug/Alcohol Abuse
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Schizophrenia
  • Suicidal/homicidal thoughts
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Obsessive Compulsivity

If it is determined that hospitalization provides the best course of treatment, you should allow for 1 1/2 hours to complete the admissions process.

To schedule your assessment, call us toll-free at 805-653-6434,  Oftentimes, same-day assessments are possible, as it is our goal to meet your needs quickly.

How to Plan for Your Stay

We want to make you as comfortable as possible while helping you receive the treatment you need. To help prepare you for your stay, we ask that you review our guidelines prior to admission.

These guidelines include a few general rules for inpatient areas, as well as the items you will need to bring upon admission. To provide a safe and healing environment for our patients, please pay careful attention to the list of items that are not allowed during your stay at Vista Del Mar.

If you have any questions about items to bring with you, please call our intake department.
